“Gravel” means “pebble,” and the inspiration comes from a stone picked up by designer Fujiki Kumagai at the northernmost tip of Sado Island in Niigata. The shape of the rim is directly derived from the contours of the island’s stones, with special techniques transforming these natural forms into lens design.
